Dear Esteemed AOPAS Members,
It is a great honor and privilege to serve as the President of the Association of Pelvi-Acetabular Surgeons (AOPAS). AOPAS was established with the vision of creating a platform where experienced surgeons and young professionals can learn from one another, share innovations, and collectively raise the standards of care. The idea of this association was first mooted at the Golden Jubilee IOACON held in Mumbai in 2005. Our association brings together dedicated orthopedic surgeons committed to advancing the science and art of pelvic and acetabular surgery through excellence in clinical care, education, research, and collaboration.
The management of pelvic and acetabular injuries remains one of the most challenging areas of orthopedic trauma. Continuous learning, meticulous surgical technique, and the exchange of knowledge are essential to achieving the best outcomes for our patients. Over the years, our association has grown into a vibrant academic community that promotes high-quality scientific discussions, hands-on training, multicenter research, and mentorship through conferences, workshops, cadaveric courses and webinars.
In the coming year we are planning to have pelvi-acetabular workshops in every region especially in tier two cities or even in the outskirts of the major cities to generate awareness and interest in the newer generation of orthopaedic surgeons. Webinars have also been planned and announcements regarding them will be made shortly. The idea of a pan India registry has been mooted and preliminary work has started on it.
Your passion and commitment are the foundation of our association's success. I extend my sincere gratitude to all our members, faculty, mentors, and partners for their unwavering dedication and support and invite every member to actively participate in the activities of AOPAS, share their expertise, and contribute to our collective mission. Together, we will continue to inspire excellence, foster innovation, and shape the future of pelvi-acetabular surgery.
